Job Description
Provides patient care in the acute care setting.
Meets communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff.
Prepares and compiles records on the Acute Care Unit.
Assists Acute Care staff with answering call lights, phone calls and discharge planning.
Will meet with patient/family regarding follow-up appointments, and will collaborate with nursing and medical staff to meet patient/family needs on discharge.
Will be knowledgeable of telemetry position and capable of relieving telemetry staff for breaks and have the ability to work as a telemetry tech, when needed.
Initiates directions from physician and nursing staff.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies and procedures/standards.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
CNA or LPN
Current BCLS certification
Successful completion of arrhythmia course
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
Additional languages preferred
Basic computer knowledge
Knowledge of medical terminology
