Job Description

Daviess Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or a Physician Assistant (PA) . Position requires the ability to educate patients and families on medications, diseases, treatment plans and procedures for a diverse patient population. Effectively collaborate with members of the healthcare team to offer the best patient care and ensure good outcomes are achieved. We are looking to fill a PRN position at our QuickCare Clinic.

  • Develops treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases.
  • Educating and guiding patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits.
  • Understands the changes in health promotion throughout the aging process.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served.
  • Performs diagnostic tests and screening evaluations.
  • Managing overall patient care regarding lifestyle and development issues.
  • Emphasizing preventative care and disease management.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to coworkers.
  • Prescribes medications while using medication references as needed.
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
  • Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family.
  • Revises plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment.
  • Completes computerized documentation in patient's charts in appropriate time frame.
  • Knowledge of established clinic policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Qualifications

  • Current Nurse Practitioner License or current Physician Assistant license
  • Current BLS certification. ACLS certified.
  • Confident in diagnosing, treating, education, and assisting patients of all ages to manage illnesses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident with EMR documentation and computer skills.
  • Experience preferred but not mandatory.
